Frequently Asked Questions

Find answers to common questions about SolarPeak products, installation, troubleshooting, and warranty.

Product Selection

Consider your total panel capacity (kWp), grid type (single-phase or three-phase), and whether you need battery storage capability. For residential systems under 10kW, a single-phase hybrid inverter is usually sufficient. For larger systems or commercial applications, three-phase inverters are recommended. Use our product selector tool on the Products page or contact our sales team for personalized recommendations.

On-grid (grid-tie) inverters sync with the utility grid and cannot operate during outages unless paired with backup. Off-grid inverters work independently of the grid, ideal for remote locations. Hybrid inverters combine both capabilities — they can send excess power to the grid and also store energy in batteries for backup, offering the most flexibility.

Yes, SolarPeak inverters are designed to work with most major solar panel brands and many third-party lithium battery systems. However, for optimal performance and full warranty coverage, we recommend using SolarPeak-certified batteries and panels. Check the compatibility list in our product datasheets for specific models.

Installation

We strongly recommend professional installation by a certified electrician. Solar inverters involve high-voltage DC and AC connections that require proper training, local electrical code compliance, and grid connection approvals. Improper installation may void the warranty and create safety hazards.

Inverters should be mounted on a solid, non-flammable wall in a well-ventilated area, protected from direct sunlight and rain. Maintain minimum clearance distances (typically 300mm above/below, 200mm sides) as specified in the installation manual. Indoor locations like garages or utility rooms are ideal.

Download the SolarPeak app, power on the inverter, and follow the in-app setup wizard. The inverter creates a temporary WiFi hotspot for initial configuration. Connect your phone to this hotspot, then enter your home WiFi credentials through the app. Once connected, you can monitor your system remotely.

Troubleshooting

First, note the exact error code displayed on the LCD screen. Consult the error code table in your user manual for specific troubleshooting steps. Common issues include grid voltage fluctuations, communication errors, or overheating. Try restarting the inverter after 5 minutes. If the error persists, contact our support team with the error code for assistance.

Several factors can reduce output: shading on panels, dirty panels, high temperatures, grid frequency variations, or partial system faults. Check the per-panel monitoring data in the SolarPeak app to identify if specific panels are underperforming. Clean panels regularly and trim any vegetation causing shade.

A slight humming or buzzing sound during operation is normal, especially at high power output. However, loud clicking, cracking, or continuous high-pitched sounds may indicate a fault. Check for loose mounting, debris in the cooling fan, or contact support if concerned.

Warranty & Service

Standard warranty covers manufacturing defects and component failures under normal operating conditions. Inverters carry a 5-year warranty (extendable to 10 years), batteries 10 years, and solar panels 25 years. Warranty covers part replacement or repair but does not cover damage from improper installation, lightning strikes, flooding, or unauthorized modifications.

Contact your original installer or distributor first. They will perform initial diagnostics and escalate to SolarPeak if needed. Alternatively, contact our service team through the Contact page or your regional service center. Have your product serial number, purchase date, and a description of the issue ready.

Extended warranty can be purchased within the first year of product registration. Contact your distributor or register through the SolarPeak partner portal. Extended warranties add 5 years of coverage (total 10 years) with the same terms as the standard warranty.
